Esimio Incomprendido: OMFG

Las listas de "lo mejor y lo pior" del año que concluye siempre despiertan un interés medio morboso en mí, siempre quiero leerlas.

Veamos.

Intel core 2 duo (no podia estar más de acuerdo, aunque ya hay core2duo extreme y quad core)
2.-Core 2 Extreme QX6700 Intel esta en la cima del desempeño

3.-Apple iMac (Core 2 Duo) para todos los fans de Apple y los que quieren serlo, ahora las mac corren windows y tiene proces

adores Intel (más pronto cae un hablador que un cojo)

4.-ASUS P525 PDA Phone (Wi-Fi) Asus incursiona cada día más en otros mercados y lo hace a paso firme, un muy buen teléfono que tanto geeks como los que compran teléfonos por su exterior pueden portar.

5.- PQI U510 Pro (flash drive) el sueño guajiro de los que andamos con mucha información de un lado a otro (también cuando cargamos imágenes de películas y juegos de una compu a otra), pero la pesadilla de los departamentos de seguridad de muchas empresas, pequeño como el sólo, hace una sola cosa y lo hace mejor que cualquier otro.

6.- Samsung YP-K5 MP3 player , pero no es cualquier reproductor (si te interesa el diseño de las cosas que cargas, este no te decepcionara), no es un pisapales glorificado si no tienes con que conectarlo a un estereo o audifonos, tiene unos diminutos speakers de 1.5 w y una calidad nunca antes obtenida (me sigo dando de topes por comprar el ipod)

7.-Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 en años consecutivos seagate con esta línea ha dejado a los entusiastas muy ...muy...pues....entusiasmados, no es tan solo más rapido y con más memoria, tiene "tres cuartos" de terabyte de capacidad (750 GB para los no geeks) y estrena la tecnología de grabación perpendicular (si, esa de la animación "jocosa")

8.- ViewSonic VX2025WM 20-inch widescreen LCD monitor, otro ganador habitual, Viewsonic trae este display de 20 pulgadas con un bajo tiempo de respuesta ideal para gamers que adoptan esta tendencia hacia le widescreen, tiene un hermano menor (la diferencia es el response time), el VA2012wb que tienen una resolución de 1680X1050 (no apta para computadoras anémicas) y si tuvieran capacidades HDCP no dudaría en recomendarlos, pero esa resolución la comparten con modelos de 22 y24 pulgadas, así que no son en realidad tan grandiosos, pero una vez que trabajas en widescreen no quieres regresar.

9.- BenQ FP241W LCD monitor. este, este si es un monitor que yo

recomendaría sin contemplaciones (sólo que es más $$$) y BenQ aún no se posiciona del todo bien entre los conocedores (yo llegué a vender uno que otro, pero todavía en aspect ratio 4:3 ), ojo, en este si podrás ver tus películas en Blue ray y HDDVD porque es HDCP complaint y su resolución mínima es de 1920 X 1200 (ya no hay pretextos de tener que cerrar ventanas o minimizar)

Si se dan cuenta los monitores LCD en aspect ratio de 16:10 ya son la norma (la pregunta es, ¿así lo decidimos o asi lo decidieron por nosotros?)

10.- ASUS PW201 20-inch widesceen LCD monitor, esta "recargado" de caracteristicas, además de ser ganador del premio IF por su diseño, en su delgado "chasis" trae una cámara web de 1.3 megapixeles, algunos puertos USB, parlantes (también se esta haciendo norma para ahorrar espacio) y una infinidad de entradas. Lo más notable sea tal vez su capacidad picture in picture.

11.- Dell UltraSharp '07' Series Widescreen LCD monitors , estos monitores, aparte de ser de los más añejos en el campo, son los más probados para HDCP a través de DVI, junto con los de apple fueron los pioneros.

Yo nunca fui partidario del LCD, pero por el hecho de que el consumo de energía eléctrica es menor que un CRT vale la pena hacer el cambio, digo, es nuestro planeta (y ya se están hundiendo islas que en algún momento estuvieron habitadas)

12.- Intel P965 Express, otra vez Intel, lanzo un chipset para acompañar los conroe, el 965 (aunque es preferido el 975X), el intel 965, se suponia que iba a ser un chipset "chaparron" y ha sido un hitazo por su potencial de overclock.

13.- Universal abit AW9D-MAX (Intel 975X Express), hablando de ese conjunto de chips, el 975X es parte fundamental de muchas motherboards codiciadas, como esta de ABIT (que vuelve por sus fueros)

14.- The ASRock ConRoeXFire-eSATA2 es una motherboard basada en el intel 945 express pero trae de todo (hasta HDMI) y el mentado e sata (que a mi aún no me convence)

El 2006 fue definitivamente un año de ensueño para intel y también para Asus, cierto AMD dio un golpe muy grande al adquirir ATI, pero esos frutos los veremos ya el año entrante.

15.- ASUS P5B Deluxe WiFi-AP (Intel P965 Express), otra motherboard para intel, esta basada en su más nuevo conjunto de chips, para su procesador insignia, el core2duo, como la gran mayoría de las motherboards para intel, aún se encuentran lista para el crossfire de ATI (que a decir verdad nunca ha despegado), soporte para ddr 2 800 (oh, me precipite con mis compras)

16.- ASUS P5W DH Deluxe (Intel 975X Express), esta estabá destinada a ser mi motherboard, pero me precipite y termine comprando una basada en el chipset nforce 4 para Intel, ahora habrá que resignarse. en pocas palabras, la mejor motherboard basada en el chipset 975X de intel, con algunos detalles muy ionteresantes para el "hogar digital" como una entrada para tu DAP (o tu mp3 como le dicen aquí en México a los reproductores) y un control remoto programable.

17.- Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6 (Intel P965 Express) , el core2duo eléctricamente es muy exigente con la motherboard que lo ha de acompañar, todas las mobos que quieren tener un core2duo en su socket vienen "de ley" con ocho etapas de regulación, esta MOBO de gigabyte viene con etapas de regulación 12! (a eso le llaman overkill), esta literalmente trae de todo, pero de todo.

18.-Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 (Intel P965 Express), es la hermana meor, más fea y que tiene un lunar con pelos de la DQ6, pero de buenos sentimientos y gran personalidad, también es mas accesible por loo que ha sido la elegida por muchos overclockers "on the budget"

19.- ASUS Striker Extreme (NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI), lo más nuevo de nvidia para Intel (si hubiera estado ahí el día que compré a su hermana vieja), en resumen, la mejor motherboard para core2duo basada en el más nuevo chipset de nvidia, gamer del mundo, este es el (efímero) equivalente del santo grial.

20.- Shuttle XPC X100, una tendencia muy grande en otras latitudes es no comprar un reproductor dedicado a una sola tarea , si no aprovechar la versatilidad de una computadora, pues no sólo se puede dedicar a reproducir, tiene un amplio abanico de posibilidades, puede estar descargando más contenido, puede ser servidor para toda la casa, aunuqe obviamente no quieres el armatoste gigantesco en tu sala de estar y por eso estos pequeñines mejor llamados small form factor o SFF pa´ los cuates son la opción obvia, su única pega ha sido la dificultad de realizar mejoras

(upgrades) sin tener que desarmar todo el conjunto, es nuevo modelo de Shuttle (de las compañías con mas reputación en ese campo) tiene más espacio, precisamente facilitando dichas mejoras.

Para la gente de Computer World, los productos más innovadores del 2006 son (chequen los que se repiten)

1.- Microsoft Office 2007

2.- Intel CORE2DUO

Intel's truly innovative accomplishment was managing to bundle all of those technologies together, while significantly reducing power consumption.

3.- Parallels desktop for mac.

The idea of running Windows on a Mac made plenty of headlines this year. While this Hades-freezing development is undeniably cool and useful, it's hard to pin down which implementation is most innovative.

4.- Nintendo WII

The $250 Wii video game console boasts powerful new motion-sensing controllers that make game play both more entertaining and more active. In specially designed games, you can swing the Wii Remote or the joystick-like Nunchuck to have your character smash a tennis ball or throw a nasty left hook. It's fun and addictive, and ushers in a new era for gaming.

5.-Samsung 32 GB SSD

Bringing a flash drive of usable size to notebooks, the Samsung 32GB SSD hard disk heralds a new age in fast laptop storage, and sets the stage for upcoming hybrid drives

Do you ever wonder how far the whole Ajax-based applications-in-a-browser craze can go? How about an entire operating system that runs in your browser? That's what YouOS, WebShaka's intriguing free site currently in alpha testing, is all about. Applications, data, and settings all live on the server. Set up an account, and you can access your YouOS desktop from anywhere, which gives a whole new meaning to remote access.

8.- Dell XPS M2010

Sporting a cutting-edge design, the Dell XPS M2010 makes a bold and immediate statement. Not quite a desktop and definitely less portable than a standard notebook, this hybrid system neatly balances elements of both. You get a 20.1-inch screen, a slot-loading DVD drive, and a detachable, full-size Bluetooth keyboard, plus an integrated Webcam, eight built-in speakers, and a subwoofer. Powering this entertainment system are ATI graphics, an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, and up to 4GB of RAM. It also folds up into a briefcase-like bundle, complete with a handle--but it weighs a hefty 18-plus pounds.

9.- Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 750GB

With the growing popularity of video and music files in the past few years, storage capacity once again became an issue for PCs as hard drives' conventional longitudinal recording technology reached its limit. Enter perpendicular magnetic recording technology, which allows vendors to pack more data onto one platter than in the traditional approach. 10.- T-Mobile Dash

The slim Motorola Q brought a usable QWERTY keyboard to Windows Mobile smart phones--and then the T-Mobile Dash came along and got the rest of the package right. 11. Pioneer Inno

Satellite radio reaches a new level of portability with Pioneer's $299 Inno XM Radio receiver. Earlier devices simply recorded snippets of radio shows. This is a real live-radio receiver that can record and store songs, too, and it lets you bookmark tunes you want to buy later.

12. Farecast

Lots of sites help you find the best airfares if you're buying tickets right now. But what looks like a great deal one day can seem overpriced the next. Farecast tracks fares over time, telling you whether prices are likely to go up or down over the next week.

13. Sony BWU-100A Blu-Ray Disc Rewritable Drive

Sony's BWU-100A wasn't the first internal Blu-ray Disc burner we saw (that honor went to Pioneer's BDR-100A), but it offers the most complete package at the best price, and unlike some others it can write to both 25GB single-layer and 50GB dual-layer discs

14. Olympus EVolt E-330

The Olympus EVolt E-330 digital SLR introduces a unique feature to this class of camera: an LCD that can provide a live preview of your shot. 16.- Sony PlayStation 3 (esta es la gran apuesta de Sony, su futuro depende del éxito de esta maquina)

A multicore cell processor. Blu-ray. Wi-Fi. A custom-designed nVidia graphics chip. A motion-sensing, wireless controller. The most evolved of the music streaming services, Rhapsody has added two features that further liberate it from the PC. With the Sonos Digital Music System, you can connect directly to Rhapsody, no PC needed. And if you tell the $10-to-$15-per-month service which kinds of music you like, it'll load new songs in that genre when you connect a compatible portable player.

19. Logitech NuLooq

The NuLooq , a heavy hockey puck-size dome that sits stationary on your desk, gives you lots of new ways of moving around your PC. Though it's targeted at design pros, it can help anyone who needs more control than a mouse and a scroll wheel offer.

20. Shure E500PTH Sound Isolating Earphones

These in-ear, sound-isolating headphones nestle themselves in your ear canal and block 20 dB of outside noise, leaving you with a remarkably quiet listening environment even on a crowded bus or plane. Though that's great for listening to music, it can be a pain if you have to talk to someone for a bit. In the $500 E500PTH, however, Shure found a unique way around the problem by embedding a small microphone in the cord. Flick a switch on the Push To Hear module, and the outside world is piped in through the headphones--you have no need to remove them from your ears.
