Well I've been dealing with the Transformers Game for The PC
And boy
It is a sad day
For starters, I used to trust blindly those guys over
Traveller Tales, I mean, both
Star Wars:Lego games have been great, but their winning streak came to an end.
OK Transformer looks good enough, it is far, way far of utilizing the new consoles hardware to its full potential not to mention the PC that chews these engine and spits the left overs, but actually that is not such a bad thing, 'cause in that way most systems even aging PCs will be able to run these game.
Those drop dead requirements are as follows:
Minimum Requirements: 3D hardware accelerator card required 100% DirectX® 9.0c-compliant 64MB video card and drivers*
Microsoft Windows XP/Vista
Pentium 4 2.0GHz or Athlon 2.0GHz or higher processor
256MB of RAM (1GB for Windows Vista)
4 GB of uncompressed hard disk space (plus 300 MB for the Windows swap file and 1MB free for saved games)
DirectX 9.0c (Included)
100% DirectX 9.0c-compliant true 16-bit sound card and drivers
100% Windows XP-compatible mouse, keyboard and drivers
100% Windows XP-compatible quad speed DVD-ROM drive (600 K/sec sustained transfer rate)
All NVIDIA GeForce 4 Ti 4200 64MB and better chipsets
All ATI Radeon 8500 64MB and better chipsets
I don't know about you but that is so my last machine, I know of people who uses something more powerful just as a media server.
That and what I had already mentioned about it being
smart enough to select the right resolution and aspect ratio makes it decent on the PC side of things.
But that is about the only thing worth mentioning
One annoying thing is that whenever you are transforming midair you are unable to shoot until the transformation sequence is over, and those unnerving voice over reminders that keep telling you to go from Point A to Point B get quite tiresome pretty quickly, this game does not live up to the surprisingly watchable movie from Michael Bay.
How on earth could they screw things this bad. This is not a low budgeted game . They even had the same models from the movie.
This "game" sucks, boy it sucks big time, there are some things you can destroy, pretty much any building or car, but let us imagine you are walking trough the park and run into a bench, one would imagine this huge robot could stomp on it, but no, you must jump, and there is only one height for that jump and you are pretty vulnerable until you land (
was this on purpose?) as I said before, no midair transforming or shooting, and those lock features are not working, so you might as well pretend those are not there.
Before i forget, the control in the vehicle form sucks, I used to believe it was me, but no, it does not matter what you are trying to move, be it a car or a helicopter, the control sucks and on air it just makes you feel like you are on a different level, there is no up or down., what a waste of a license as mighty as this one
